The District chief executive of Saboba, Hon. George Kitengyaan Bingrini on Wednesday 8th April 2020 led a team of engineers from Northern Development Authority and the Saboba District assembly to cut sod for extension of electricity to Takpalb community in Kpalba electoral area in the Saboba district.
This according to the DCE is one out of the 21 projects ready to be executed within the next six months by NDA in the Saboba district after need assessments were done.
According Hon.Bingrini, the decision to aggressively extend electricity to rural communities has become paramount to him,the Mp and the good people of Saboba because many women still travel on foot for several kilometers to access grinding mail services because of lack electricity in their communities which is unacceptable. He added that extension of electricity to rural communities will go a long way to improve BECE performance in the district because school children can study at night at their own comfort. The honorable DCE however made it clear to the Media that the one constituency, one million dollars initiative falls under under direct supervision of the Northern Development Authority and so monies are not paid directly into the district assembly accounts. He said Saboba district will for the next six months enjoy 21 projects after presenting their needs to the authority. The projects he said includes sinking of boreholes, extension of electricity, construction of some roads within the district but just to mention a few.
Officer in charge of monitoring and evaluation at Northern Development
Authority Mr Sa-adu Misiri urged community members to give the constructors the necessary support so they can deliver well.
